Overcoming Adversity

Saturday, May 16 - 10:00am to 12:30pm

While it may be impossible to avoid difficult situations and conditions, it turns out that through training the mind in Buddhist meditation we can upend those troubling situations . . . to our advantage!

This special practice, known as “transforming adverse conditions into the path,” enables us to integrate all of our experiences into our spiritual training. Living skillfully and creatively in this way makes our whole life meaningful and joyful. In session one, we will explore what are known as the “method” practices for transforming the mind. Session two will be devoted to the wisdom method.

What to Expect:

  • Guided meditations to help you meet challenges with greater calm and clarity

  • Practical teachings on transforming difficult situations into opportunities for inner growth

  • Insight into the “method” practices for reshaping the mind and responses to adversity

  • Exploration of the “wisdom” approach for seeing difficulties from a deeper perspective

  • Time for reflection and space for thoughtful questions

  • A supportive and encouraging environment to work with life’s challenges skillfully

  • Suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators

This workshop will be co-taught by Gen Khedrub at our Cambridge location. You can read more about them on our Teachers page.
